About Us:
The German Canadian Club of Aylmer, better known as the Saxonia Hall is a Transylvania Saxon / German organization which provides a place for its members to meet and share in their heritage. It was founded in 1971 in Aylmer by the Saxon community who were looking for a place to gather with their friends to remember their homeland, speak a common language and celebrate their new lives in Canada, in the same location where many artefacts, pictures, embroidered and handcrafted pieces of art and a library of German books are displayed.
Over the past 35 years the Saxonia Hall has grown to 200+ members and has become a large part of our regional community. It has hosted many political events, and has opened its doors to the public for weddings, conferences, business meetings, and family gatherings. The Saxonia Hall is known in the community for its hospitality, cuisine and cultural contributions and authentic atmosphere. You need only to visit our club to experience the pride the members take in their heritage.
